Dr Henry graduated from veterinary school in 1993 from Michigan State University. He started a practice soon after graduation that grew to a 8-doctor full-service equine clinic, which he sold in 2003 and began his present practice limited to dentistry. He completed a Dentistry and Oral surgery residency at UC Davis in 2014. He then successfully achieved board certification with the AVDC in 2015 for the small animal certification and in 2016 achieved the equine certification. He currently is the National Director of Dentistry for Thrive Pet Healthcare. Dr. Henry provides dental and oral surgery services to patients around the country. He has taught wet labs and been involved in dental education worldwide. He enjoys outdoor activities with his Wife Amy and 2 boys Joshua and Noah.

- Interpreting Radiographs of the Oral Cavity
- Approaching the interpretation of dental radiographs using a systematic approach of 5 components.
- What to Extract and What to Keep
- Utilizing principals gleaned from the oral examination and diagnostic imaging to build a treatment plan. In this presentation we will utilizes principals of when to extract teeth and when to monitor teeth that are affected by progressive conditions.

Equine Topics
- The Complete Oral Examination and Dental Anatomy
- The oral exam will be explained using a 5-component based system
- Imaging and Interpretation of the Equine Head
- The process of obtaining and interpreting dental films will be explained so that the practitioner can obtain readable films. Common dental conditions will be presented and explained.
- Cases based presentation of conditions that antibiotics will not treat.
- In this portion we will use cases that require surgery and how to work them up. We will explain the surgical options and what the aftercare process entails.
Registration and Fees
This wet lab is currently open to South Dakota Veterinary Medical Association members only. Non-members may be put in a wait list. Each session is limited to 16 participants.
Each session will provide 12 hours of continuing education credit. The session will include 4 hours of video lecture available prior to the session and 8 hours of hands-on lecture and wet lab onsite. Proceedings or notes for each session will NOT be available for this program.

Each small animal session registrant will receive an extraction pack valued at $275. Each equine session registrant will receive an equine mirror valued at $160. Sessions include lunch and refreshments.
Registration for SDVMA Members is on a first-come, first-served basis. Non-SDVMA Members will be placed on a waitlist until after the early bird registration deadline.
