The SDVMA invites every veterinarian in South Dakota to become a member and to participate.

The SDVMA typically offers two meetings per year for continuing education credits:

  • The summer meeting was held June 1-3, 2008 at the Ramkota in Pierre.  For additional information, contact Janice Kampmann at the address and phone below.
  • The 2008 meeting will be in Rapid City August 13-16, 2008 at the Ramkota.  Earn 18 hours of continuing education.  A total of 36 hours is offered on large and companion animal topics.  Contact Janice Kampmann to receive a registration form.

If you are interested in becoming active in the Association, contact any member of the Executive Board.  The standing committees include: Auction Market, Audit, Companion Animal, Continuing Education, Equine, Exhibitors, Food Animal, Legislative, Long-Range Planning, Membership, Nominating, Public Relations, SDVMA Foundation, Veterinary Technicians.

Of key concern to all veterinarians is pending legislation.  Watch the Legislative Information page for updates during the session.

The South Dakota Animal Disease Research & Diagnostic Laboratory has introduced a new fee schedule (7/1/2005) which can be printed in pdf format from their site.

The Office of the SD State Veterinarian is under the auspices of the Animal Industry Board.  Check out this site for information on hot topics in the area of the animal industry as well as the state examining board, disease control, meat inspections, livestock auctions, etc.
